John Tyler Community College is seeking a Building and Grounds Supervisor to lead a diverse multi-trades team including operations, maintenance, and grounds departments. Supervisory responsibilities include planning and coordinating daily activities, monitoring BAS systems, managing department procurement and budgeting, effective scheduling of preventive maintenance, staff training, contract quality assurance, work system management, mentoring staff, resolving conflicts, collaborating with Midlothian counterparts, evaluating performance of staff, filling in for Facilities Director and Safety as needed, and collaborating with management/occupants. The supervisor will perform responsible administrative, technical, and supervisory work in planning and directing the maintenance and repair of college buildings and grounds. Plans, organizes, directs and inspects the work of team members and contractors engaged in the regular maintenance of housekeeping, facilities, grounds, and equipment, ensuring all are structurally/mechanically sound, maintained in a safe condition, acceptable in appearance, and safe for public use.
