University of the Sciences (USciences) has an immediate need for a qualified candidate for the position of Student Accounts Coordinator. The Student Accounts Coordinator reports to the Director of Student Accounting Services and performs diversified customer services as they pertain to the billing of student tuition and other fees, communications, collection of current and past-term student debt, student refunds, and maintenance of student accounts.

Serves as primary customer service contact, receiving in-person, phone, and/or written inquiries from such sources as students, funding agencies or parents; provides appropriate information to each in accordance with USciences and Federal guidelines; contacts other departments on students’ behalf and directs students to those departments, when necessary; resolves related problems and coordinates problem-solving with Financial Aid Office.
Operates personal computer to access student accounting and financial aid records.
Prepares regular and special statements and other communications to students.
Processes student account and agency refunds, assembles all necessary documentation, prepares, and enters vouchers, and submits refunds for approval by Financial Aid Office. Monitors refund status and answers student’s inquiries.
Promotes students’ use of direct deposit option and directs them to entry module on WebAdvisor/Workday.
Assists students and families in computing budgets for installment plan in context of financial aid and other resources.
Manages address issues for all student account communications in conjuncture with Registrar’s Office.
Relieves Cashier as directed.
Covers Loan Servicing functions in absence of Student Accounts Loan Services Coordinator.
Assists Director of Student Accounting Services with special projects in support of various academic initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned within the Controller’s Office to serve the USciences community.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Education equivalent to high school completion is required.
Five (5) + years of general related practical experience or combination of post high school training/education and experience
Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent customer service orientation; able to deal with challenging situations in a calm and positive manner.
Ability to communicate effectively -- orally, by phone, in person, and in writing.
Willingness to learn applicable Department of Education Title IV Regulations.
The finalist will be required to successfully pass a background check.
