Department/College Description The Center for Residence Life serves 7,100 residents residing in RIT Residence Halls, Greek free-standing houses, Special Interest Houses, RIT Inn, Global Village, and Apartments.

Detailed Job Description The Senior Staff Specialist will report to the Associate Director and work collaboratively with the Administrative & Financial Services Assistant to provide support for the Center for Residence Life's business operations. This position will balance responsibilities related to budgeting, hiring, scheduling, and department program and event support.
The responsibilities of this position include:
Management of assigned procurement cards, including coordination with other department staff, ultimately ensuring that all required steps are completed on-time each month.
Reconcile Special Interest House procurement cards, in collaboration with other department support staff
Reconcile Dining Debit cards, as assigned, including monthly approvals and funding levels
Assist with tracking and obtaining all documentation for department budget statements as part of monthly reconciliation. Manage all HUB, FMS, Tech Crew, and related chargeback invoices. Track monthly phone bills for all department areas.
Reconcile Special Interest House project statements monthly
Manage department purchase orders, as assigned, including confirmation of delivery and submission to A/P for payment
Coordinate and maintain department internal controls related to the Residence Life service desk and Resident Advisor duty, including key access.
Coordinate/Schedule the student Service Desk Attendants and Graduate RA office coverage. This includes assisting the Associate Director with creating a comprehensive point of service schedule that also includes the RIT FoodShare and Graduate RA office hours in addition to the Residence Life Service desk
Provide real-time troubleshooting and resource support for inquiries service desk attendants receive that must be escalated for additional resolution
Provide back-up staffing, as needed, for the Service Desk
Manage student timecard and payroll actions
Develop and provide onboarding processes and training for student employees.
The responsibilities of this position include:
Required Minimum Qualifications Five years of office experience including customer service and use of standard Microsoft Office products.
Ability to manage and maintain confidential and private information; uses confidential, sensitive and/or private records and information, protects information appropriately
Ability to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships based on respect, empathy and honesty with diverse groups and individuals
Effective interpersonal, written, and electronic communications skills, including the ability to convey complex information in accessible terms to diverse or multicultural audiences
Knowledge of Deaf culture, American Sign Language (ASL), or willingness to learn
Experience using technology and systems to support administrative, operation and program functions
Ability to work autonomously and with frequent interruptions
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, strong attention to detail and bring processes to closure by set deadlines
Ability to leverage technology systems to complete assigned work, including learning new systems as utilized by the University and department.
Excellent communication and interpersonal relations
