The Financial Services Manager should have experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds and fully support the College's commitment to equity and inclusion.
Specific duties include:
Develop, monitor, and manage daily, monthly and yearly financial reporting systems to comply with state and federal auditing and reporting requirements by preparing budgets, financial plans, and expenditure reports.
Provide thorough analysis of external and internal documents, create, recommend, and implement systems and processes to assure that the financial condition of the HTC Foundation are transparent and accurately portrayed at all times.
Provide consultation and analysis, and participate in the development and revision of HTC Foundation financial policies and procedures.
Provide oversight of College scholarship program.
Provide oversight for in-kind donations and scholarships reconciliation.
Minimum Qualifications(expected to have to enter job):
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a regionally accredited institution
Four (4) years of professional level accounting, finance or management experience performing reconciliation and financial analysis; developing financial reports; and developing and monitoring budgets
Demonstrated general accounting, business and technical skills including knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles
Demonstrated experience and understanding of fund accounting for non-profits
Experience using QuickBooks
Strong experience and knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated advanced math and analytical/problem solving skills
Demonstrated experience with other Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint)
Strong communication skills including listening, speaking and writing
Experience with and sensitivity to individuals from diverse backgrounds
Ability to learn new software and technical skills as needed
Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, ability to work independently, ability to work under pressure and with time constraints, and ability to make effective use of time
Preferred Qualifications(desired but not expected to have to enter job):
Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from a regionally accredited institution or CPA designation
Experience working with budgets and or the preparation of financial statements AND the ability to project and evaluate impact of certain actions, proposals, and decisions on these processes
General knowledge of higher education accounting principles as prescribed by the Governmental Accounting Standards board as well as Minnesota State policies, procedures and guidelines
Ability to view issues with an open mind, create new alternatives, and support innovation and change when appropriate
