SWCC seeks a full-time Law Enforcement Officer to serve the community and to help safe guard lives and property of all students, faculty, and visitors. The successful candidate will be able to foster trust within our diverse community and problem solve through collaboration.
Officer must hold a current Virginia certification as a Law Enforcement Officer or pass physical requirements, drug screening, and back ground to gain entry to a basic law enforcement academy. Must complete all DCJS requirements to obtain a Virginia law enforcement certification within 12 months from the date of hire. Must qualify with all issued weapons and tools used to perform all assigned duties. Must attend and successfully complete all required training to keep DCJS certified and satisfy all SWCC guidelines. Applicant must be 18 years or older, possess a High School Diploma or GED, possess a valid operator's license, able to complete and pass physical requirements for entry to the Law Enforcement Basic Academy or be DCJS certified as a Law Enforcement Officer, able to pass drug screening and a background investigation, cannot have a felony conviction and must display an ethical mind set, and be able to communicate professionally with the public.
