ABDs considered, PhD expected by time of appointment.Law, Politics, and Society at Drake University, a comprehensive private university in Des Moines Iowa, is hiring a tenure-track assistant professor. The department seeks a teacher-scholar committed to sociolegal inquiry, interdisciplinarity, and undergraduate education. Discipline and specialization are open, however we have a particular interest in global legal studies, human migration, power and inequality, science and technology, or the practices of the legal profession. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to the field of Law and Society. The ideal candidate can contribute to the core required courses in the major as well as teach upper and lower division electives in their areas of expertise. We are especially interested in candidates who contribute to excellent education for diverse student populations, whose work contributes to intercultural and global understandings, and who desires to be an active member of a department with strong commitments to university and college service.
