The Department of Psychiatry within the School of Medicine at UC San Diego (http://psychiatry.ucsd.edu/Pages/default.aspx) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body. We seek outstanding applicants for non-tenured/ non-tenure track faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor level. Successful candidates will be expected to teach or supervise UCSD trainees at various levels. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong or potential accomplishments in areas contributing to diversity, equity and inclusion, and a strong commitment to the university community.
Candidates must have an MD or PhD or equivalent, in a discipline illuminating the nature, mechanisms, and treatment of various neuropsychiatric disorders. Candidates with an MD and applying for clinical positions must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board. Candidates with a PhD and applying for clinical positions must have graduated from an APA-accredited Doctoral Program which includes completion of an APA-accredited internship.
Strong clinical service, grant funding, record of scholarly achievement, and proven teaching experience are preferred.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
