The Financial Analyst 2 provides payroll, accounting, extramural pre/post award, and operations support for all business units in the School of Nursing at UC Davis. Utilizes initiative, judgment, and discretion in researching, analyzing and compiling necessary information to contribute to the smooth daily operations of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. Responsible for researching and resolving payroll, financial, and operations matters. Provides support for post-award budget development, account reconciliation, purchasing, travel, IT access, and academic payroll using AggieBudget, AggieBuy, DaFIS/Kuali, AggieTravel, Cognos, UCPath, and other computer systems as appropriate.
Experience using and understanding financial data management and reporting systems to process and analyze financial transactions such as payroll and purchasing
Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheet and database software to create and maintain reports, analyses, and tracking systems
Working knowledge of financial and payroll processes, policies and procedures
Intermediate mathematical skills
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
Ability to acquire a strong working knowledge of many payroll processes, policies and procedures, knowledge of organization-specific computer application programs
Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making
Successful experience working in a fast-paced, team environment that requires teamwork, organization, and collaboration
Working knowledge of UC financial and payroll processes, policies and procedures
Experience with financial data management and reporting systems including KFS, DaFIS, UCPath, and Cognos
Special Requirements Occasional overtime work may be required or necessary to complete deadlines.
