The University Human Resources Central is seeking a Classification & Compensation Consultant. This is a full-time 1.0 FTE,12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Director.
The Classification & Compensation Consultant collaborates with HR Strategic Partners, Employee & Labor Relations, Talent Acquisition, the HR Service Center, and other HR leadership to provide coordination of classification and compensation functions university-wide. The Class & Comp Consultant is responsible for advising, coaching, consulting, and providing technical advice to employees, leadership, and unit administrators in the interpretation and application of rules, bargaining agreements, policies and procedures related to classification and compensation; evaluating position descriptions for appropriate appointment type; FLSA determinations; and assistance with the maintenance of university classification and compensation structures and systems.
Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or related field and 3 years professional level human resource experience. May require professional certification.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, with an emphasis on human resource administration; OR five years of experience in human resource administration, of which two years are providing lead administrative work in a project, program or operation; A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. Ability to analyze program data, draw conclusions, and makes appropriate recommendations. Ability to anticipate, understand, and respond to customer needs in a positive, confidential, and sensitive manner. User-level experience with the following software: Database and reporting tools; Windows-based software; and Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel or similar applications This position is designated as a critical, security-sensitive or safety-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be deemed fit for duty at placement and while serving in the position.
This position may require non-standard working hours, including weekends and/or evenings, in order to meet business or customer needs and deadlines. Incumbent will be provided a laptop and peripherals so that work may be performed at a fixed work station or by remote, depending on business need.
