A total of two (2) 1.0 FTE, Registered Nurses will be hired to fill this job opening.

Duties: As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the nurse in this role will provide nursing care to patients and families of the Pediatric Neurology Division.
The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to assess and meet the needs of the patient and family; plans, implements, and evaluates patient care; teaches patients and caregivers; orients colleagues and peers; and provides support to the medical faculty and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Telephone triage will be a primary function and will include: triage calls from patients, families, clinicians and other healthcare team members. This area experiences a high volume, high acuity call environment.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all team members to improve patient outcomes. Active participation in quality improvement initiatives.
Candidate must be able to function with minimal supervision and be highly motivated to provide excellent care and patient advocacy.
Candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellent critical thinking skills relative to assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation
Candidate will be expected to demonstrate their ability to organize and manage multiple interventions simultaneously
Candidate will be expected to demonstrate their ability to problem solve in a collaborative manner
Candidate will be expected to demonstrate their effective verbal and written communication skills.
Candidate will be expected to demonstrate their ability to function competently with the electronic medical record and other technological applications.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of Michigan.
Minimum of three years of recent (within the past 5 years) clinical pediatric experience as a RN

Demonstrated experience with pediatric neurology population
Ambulatory care experience inclusive of phone triage responsibilities

Salary & Nursing Framework Level: This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C. Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Note: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
