The Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a Sponsored Programs Administrator. As a member of the Director’s Office, this position will work under the direction of the Associate Director of Administration and in support of and with Investigators as well as the center’s Pre-Award and Finance teams to ensure that Program Planning Grants meet sponsor and University requirements. The position will provide direct professional support of research activities. Examples include reviewing an award’s terms and conditions and developing a comprehensive plan to ensure that the specified administrative objectives are achieved. Primary responsibility for ensuring that the sponsored project’s administrative and program components are met sits with this position. In addition to program planning, execution and evaluation, it will be imperative that the position obtain necessary information, complete and submit annual progress reports, assess potential non-compliance and budget issues and works with the appropriate parties to ensure resolution to prevent lost funding. The position will also assist program staff in understanding and managing grant funded activities in accordance with sponsor guidelines
Education and Experience:
This position requires a substantial capacity to work both independently and in a team across multiple related projects. Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and writing skills are required. Also important is the ability to think critically and creatively, to help plan the work of others, and to work collaboratively with others.
