The content manager I role is central to the success of OpenStax and its products. Primary responsibilities include developing content markup specifications, ensuring quality of content as it is produced on OpenStax platforms, and publishing content directly to users. Through these duties the content manager I contributes to a variety of OpenStax products, including online, PDF, and print textbooks; OpenStax Tutor courseware; and other formats. The content manager I is an expert in content production methods, and participates in the early stages of content development by advising on markup and platform solutions to meet market needs. This entails collaboration with external vendors to develop new content and maintain OpenStax's growing library. The content manager I also tests code rollouts, works closely with developers who maintain OpenStax platforms, and refines styling and functionality of the content. In addition, this position provides support to end users by assisting the marketing and customer support teams. The content manager I reports to the assistant director of content development.
