The Translator at Harvard Medical School is a new organization that is tasked with accelerating the movement the fundamental science at Harvard Medical School toward the medicines of tomorrow. The Translator works across a number of disease areas and therapeutic modalities via several translational research programs, including the Quadrangle Fund for Advancing and Seeding Translational Research (Q-FASTR) program and the Blavatnik Therapeutics Challenge Awards (BTCA). The Translator seeks a Senior Therapeutics Scientist to be a senior member of the Translator team.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Work with individual investigators in the Harvard community on translational proposals within the HMS Translator (e.g., BTCA, Q-FASTR, etc.) and provide scientific advice to aid execution of existing grants.
Act as a staff member of the Translator function, offering advice and guidance as part of the educational initiative within Therapeutics, with particular emphasis on projects within the Longwood Life Lab (under construction).
As needed, manage outsource vendors or additional external experts as projects require.
Serve as a key member of the Translator staff.
On a case-by-case basis, may also function as a team member or team lead for projects in the Longwood Life Lab where projects from HMS are being principally run through the Life Lab.
The position is a part-time position (a full-time position can be discussed as needed), and is renewed annually.
This is a one-year term position with strong potential for renewal.

Minimum job qualifications:
15+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech research in a relevant subdiscipline (e.g., chemistry, AAV, etc.)
