The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Surgery is seeking a qualified Clinical Research Coordinator to work under the general direction and supervision of the Director of the Pitt Trauma Research Center (PTRC). The Research Coordinator will assist Principal Investigators (PI's) with implementation of study protocols, subject recruitment, consenting, scheduling and facilitating study visits, data collection, biological sample collection, processing, storage and shipment, and maintaining research documents. Administrative tasks include facilitating meetings, preparing agendas, bringing action items to completion.
The incumbent will work as part of a team that includes clinicians, basic scientists, surgery residents and research staff, that all work individually as well as cohesively to ensure successful outcomes. The main responsibility is to provide oversight of numerous studies to ensure and/or participate in all phases of studies: consenting and enrolling research subjects, handling human biological specimens such as blood, entering research data, performing REDCap database management, preparing reports, and maintaining institutional review board (IRB) documents and other research protocols.
Will accept Bachelors degree with 5-7 years of experience as Research Coordinator, Research Nurse or similar clinical study experience Clinical Research Coordinator Certification (CCRC) preferred.
