The Department of Anesthesiology at The Ohio State University is seeking a Division Director for Pain Management. The Pain Director coordinates the clinical staff that includes physicians, APRNs and residents to provide Chronic Pain Services throughout The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. This dedicated leader will represent the Department of Anesthesiology throughout the Department and the Medical Center for issues regarding Chronic Pain management. The Director will develop and maintain staffing modules to meet the needs of our clinical, teaching and research missions. The medical center is entering into an exciting phase of growth of ambulatory and inpatient services, creating excellent opportunities to build upon and expand our multidisciplinary pain management programs. Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs the Day-to-Day Clinical operation of the Chronic Pain Service of the Department of Anesthesia
Provides patient care as related to the Chronic Pain Service
Coordinates daily assignment of clinical staff to meet patient care needs throughout the Medical Center
Leads the Division of Pain Management in the Department of Anesthesiology
Represents the Department on matters pertaining to chronic pain management in ambulatory and inpatient settings
Leads the recruitment of pain management professionals as needed to support the clinical, education and research missions of the Division and the Department.
Develops and maintains policies and procedures to assure consistency with best practice standards
Education and Research Responsibilities
Conducts lectures, seminars and related educational offerings, both within the Medical Center and at the regional and national level
Works closely with the Program Director of the Pain Medicine Fellowship to assure excellence of training and full compliance with ACGME guidelines
Collaborates with faculty in the Division to develop and lead our Pain Research Program
Mentors the academic development of junior faculty in the Division
