Metropolitan State University, Minnesota’s public, urban university, and recipient of the 2019 Insight Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award is seeking to hire a Nursing Clinical Simulation Learning Lab Coordinator.This is a full-time, 10 month position within the College of Nursing & Health Sciences.

Create opportunities that enhance current use and evaluation (assessment) of simulation that provides support for expansion of simulation and skills activities.
Develop and maintain a process for inventory of equipment and supplies.
Develop and implement processes for purchase, scheduling use of and maintenance of equipment and space in the simulation/skill laboratory.
Assist in the development and implementation of simulation/learning lab policies and procedures that use evidence-based practices in nursing simulation education.
Explore opportunities for interdisciplinary and community simulation experiences.
Serve as a faculty resource for most pedagogically appropriate use of simulation technology
The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position:
Bachelor Degree in Nursing from an accredited program (CCNE, NLN, ACEN)
Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration or eligible for licensure in Minnesota.
One year of nursing simulation experience
Two years of experience working in acute care nursing setting
Evidence of organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Evidence of effective communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and communicate in a complex organization
Experience with database management (e.g. equipment and supplies inventory) and general computer skills
Demonstrated ability to perform professionally under stress, to implement conflict resolution
Highly organized with the energy to operate in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions
Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff
Knowledge, skill, and experience with simulation
Current CPR certification
Successfully pass the Minnesota background check
Experience working with video recording and projections equipment and human patient simulators
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) to communicate with a variety of persons and groups
Experience in the development of policy, process and procedures
Demonstrated ability to work in an institution with a culturally, economically and linguistically diverse population
Knowledge of data privacy laws as it pertains to student files, and other confidential or private information, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
Physical Requirements of the Job: This requires occasionally lifting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. Even though the weights being lifted may only be a negligible amount, a job is in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls.
Salary: This is a Minnesota State University Association of Administrative and Service Faculty (MSUAASF) Range C position with a salary range of $43,138 (minimum) to $74,719 (maximum). Salary is commensurate with education and experience, and is determined by the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (Minnesota State) and the MSUAASF organization.
