Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Clinician III for the Intensive Outpatient Program at Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.
The Mental Health Clinician III provides outpatient mental health services that demonstrate cultural sensitivity and meet the needs of designated UBHC consumers. Evaluates consumer needs and delivers therapeutic interventions incorporating evidence based individual, group, and family therapy as appropriate for mental health and co-occurring substance use issues.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Develops and/or implements treatment plans for adults (ages 18-64 years) providing individual, group and family psychotherapy as clinically indicated.
Participates in and leads therapeutic groups and activities and functions as an active member of the team. Recognizes the unique needs and behaviors of the adults (ages 18-64 years) with persistent and severe mental illness.
Assumes overall case management responsibilities for assigned cases including coordination of treatment and liaison with other community agencies, healthcare systems and providers.
Maintains appropriate patient records according to the time frames and quality guidelines established by UBHC policy and applicable accrediting organization standards.
Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in the field.
Supports the mission, vision and values of UBHC.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in appropriate mental health discipline.
Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
Must possess all clinical licensing as required by discipline and New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.
Experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness and substance abuse.
A CADC or LCADC.
