Duration: 2- 5 years. The Center for Neural Science at New York University has an immediate opening for a full-time research associate (RA). The RA will work in a team-driven environment to support laboratory management alongside the lab manager, and the lab's Principal Investigator. The RA will be responsible for supporting the lab's day-to-day research operations, which include but are not limited to performing basic data collection and analysis, and general laboratory upkeep.
This is an ideal position for someone seeking to further professional experience in a career-building research environment. The successful candidate will be motivated, reliable and keen to take initiative, tackle problems and find novel solutions, implement/improve existing procedures, and work in a team of diverse, motivated and ambitious researchers.
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the opportunity for significant involvement in the ongoing research can be made available to interested candidates. In- term opportunities for promotion will be available to qualified candidates seeking a longer-term position.
Background (preferred but not required): BS or MS or minimum of 2 years laboratory experience with demonstrated competence in first level laboratory research support; experience with animal behavioral training, operant conditioning, or psychophysics; experience with neural recording techniques or electrophysiology.
