Referral Data Entry Operator
The Michigan State University and Hurley Children’s Hospital Pediatric Public Health Initiative (https://msuhurleypphi.org/), under the direction of Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, seeks two Data Entry Operators for the Flint Registry (https://www.flintregistry.org/) project. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-designated public health authority, the Flint Registry’s goal is to connect people who were impacted by the Flint Water Crisis to resources and programs that serve to minimize the effects of lead on their health while promoting wellness and recovery.
The Data Entry Operators will primarily be responsible for entering data into multiple databases, verifying source documents/information and obtaining missing data, assisting with data entry for referrals, and performing reviews of surveys and database for accuracy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with data entry for Healthy Start aged participants’ referrals
Perform reviews of surveys and referrals for data quality
Make survey follow-up phone calls to participants
Enter data from paper survey into an electronic database
Attend trainings and project meetings
Keep information confidential
Perform other duties as assigned

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
knowledge normally acquired from specialized training such as that acquired in one year of Data Processing or Key Punching ; up to six months related experience in data processing, key entry or database; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
High School Diploma or GED
Proficient skills using keyboard and computer
Data entry experience
Able to work independently, as well as part of a team
Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
Excellent listener with the ability to understand concerns and overcome objections
Positive attitude and self-motivated
Able to follow standard operating and project-related procedures
Able to work a combination of daytime and/or evenings, throughout the week and/or weekend
Knowledge of the Flint community and/or Flint water crisis
