The Senior Research Assistant is responsible for the management and support of industry-funded studies, investigator-initiated trials, research registries, and retrospective review studies. More specifically:
Maintain all aspects of multiple database registries (Access) within the Division of General Surgery including registries for colorectal and esophageal cancer.
Prepare IRB materials and complete IRB submission for numerous ongoing and new clinical trial projects. Continuously maintain IRB compliance for ongoing studies.
Work with the departments Grants and Contracts Coordinator to create budgets for research studies.
Study recruitment and enrollment including telephone contact with patients and obtaining in-person consents for research studies.
Collection and preparation of data including screening and monitoring of study patients, coordination of patient follow-up visits, working with pharmacy and medical staff to ensure adherence to the protocol, pulling EPIC data, maintaining study reports, and presentation of results.
Collaborative effort with members of the Brenden-Colson Center, and research support for residents, fellows and other OHSU research teams.
Collaborative relationship with the divisions other clinical trial senior research assistant; must be familiar with clinical trial management.
Bachelors Degree with major courses in field of research and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
Experience in IRB approval and renewal
Proficient in Access database software
Strong organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Meticulous detail to data and study procedures
Academic Medical Center experience
ACRP or SoCRA certification
