The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), Department of Medicine - Division of Nephrology is currently seeking an Office Manager . The Office Manager is needed to assist the Principal Investigator in coordinating the activities of an NIH-funded National Research Consortium.

Schedule monthly zoom meetings of the Polycystic Kidney Disease Research consortium steering committee that includes centers across the US-will attend these "virtual meetings" and be responsible for taking minutes and then circulating.
Provide administrative support and responsible for the day-to-day administrative support functions for a national pilot project program. Independently handles procedural, matters of significance, and inquiries.
Manage the PKD Consortium web site, including twitter postings.
Provide administrative and organizational support for the Annual National Symposium in Bethesda-this will be virtual at first due to COVID.
Act as a liaison with other departments and outside agencies, which may also include high-level staff such as management team. Handle confidential and non-routine information and explains policies when necessary. Follow up and resolve all business office issues or concerns and advises management as necessary.
Assist in organizing travel awards.
Log a database of manuscripts that have used consortium reagents.
Assist the individual core centers in keeping track of core users, will ultimately do this using a REDCap data base that will need to be developed.
Assist with preparation of yearly NIH progress reports.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in administrative or business operations work.
Supervisory Experience: N/A
Other: Related experience may be substituted for education.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be an independent worker willing to take initiative.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Skill in the use of social media platforms such as twitter and facebook.
Skill in the use of REDCap.
Science knowledge is a plus.
Will be working with another administrator responsible for the Maryland Polycystic Kidney Disease Research and Translation Core Center.
Will be interacting with a national group of investigators, must have outstanding interpersonal skills.
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
