The Faculty Affairs Administrator will provide a high level of administrative support, organization, and management and coordination of a large number of faculty development events and initiatives with data analysis and reporting, along with committee meeting organization and staff support. Though the majority of the work will focus on coordination and support of faculty development events, the candidate will also provide support and manage a variety of faculty affairs actions in the office.
Candidate is expected to work independently, consistently, and efficiently within the prescribed University of Pittsburgh and Office of the Provost's policies and procedures, Faculty Handbook, and University ByLaws. The actions taken by this individual will reflect directly on the Vice Provost and the image of the office. Exceptional attention to detail, multitasking and sense of urgency are imperative. Must represent the office with a welcoming, cordial and professional demeanor and have good verbal communication skills. Ability to adapt quickly in an ever-changing environment and provide input on areas of opportunity and improvement as part of the overall team. Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills are critical.
At least 3 years of administrative experience with increasing responsibilities. Must have at least 2 years of experience in event planning and coordination of complex events, such as retreats or conferences. A candidate who has experience in actively managing and leading the coordination of such events, not solely serving in a support capacity for event planning, is strongly preferred. Must have excellent writing, project management, and organizational skills; must be proficient in the use of a personal computer and MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and electronic mail systems; needs the ability to compile and retrieve accurate data entry. Candidate must have the ability to coordinate activities with their peers and other office personnel, skills to organize office operations, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
