Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Location: Illinois: Chicago
Undergo training in the responsible conduct of research.
Undergo training in opioid use disorders and the justice system.
Recruit and enroll study participants at study site; explain study, risks, benefits and consent.
Administer structured surveys.
Maintain confidential data collection and management.
Data entry, reviewing and cleaning.
Participate in weekly check-ins with Project Coordinator and monthly group phone calls.
Uses subject matter and best practices knowledge to perform lab and/or research-related duties and tasks. Works independently to assist with project design.
Solves complex problems relating to the administration of projects, including planning new procedures, adapting existing procedures to the needs of the project, and making significant contributions to methodology.
Guides data collection, evaluation and analysis. Designs and manages databases. Writes reports, articles and manuscripts.
Responsible for all aspects of research projects and research facilities.
Presents research findings at meetings and conferences, as well as to funding agencies. Conducts literature reviews. Develop and maintain liaisons and effective working relations with groups and individuals, agencies, and the public to encourage cooperative management strategies or to develop information and interpret findings.
Performs other related work as needed.
Degree in a social science discipline such as public health, social work, public policy, etc.
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to adhere to strict data/security policies, including the maintenance and handling of PII/PHI and maintain confidentiality
Experience working with vulnerable populations
Knowledge around substance use disorders
Some level of research experience and data/programming experience, particularly RedCAP, desirable
Strong initiative and a resourceful approach to problem-solving and learning
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail with superb organization skills
Spanish language skills desirable
