Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Multimedia Specialist II for the Department of Neurosurgery at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The Multimedia Specialist will support the educational and academic role within the Medical School and neurosurgical community. The faculty of the department are involved in numerous educational CME events throughout the year, which require multiple platforms to visually enhance the educational needs of attendees. The expansion of the residency program has led to a greater need for research and publication support as well. Faculty is also involved in contributing to neurosurgical textbooks and surgical video platforms which require a Multimedia Specialist.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provide forward-thinking creative concepts for original graphic design and development of traditional print (round table guides, at a glance guides, meeting materials) and electronic media (PowerPoint (PPT) presentations, graphs, charts, tables, newsletters).
Engage in creative collaboration across the organization to develop and enhance content.
Format Power Point slides in accordance with Rutgers standards, department style guides, etc.
Develop and create innovative concepts and designs in keeping with project scope: strategic positioning, university requirements, timelines, and budgets.
Experience creating content for social media platforms and managing the presence of the Neurosurgery Department on social media.
Develop fresh engaging content based upon research and branding guidelines for email marketing, social media, and websites to entice and communicate with targeted audiences.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field with 2 years of experience in graphic design.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web.
Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software.
Strong analytical skills. Excellent eye for detail.
Familiarity with HTML and CSS.
