The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Vascular Surgery & Endovascular Therapy, is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank. The appointee will have a strong interest in vascular surgery with an expected career trajectory in vascular surgery and research. We especially welcome applicants with ability and interest in providing administrative and outreach effort associated with building a vascular program, a robust research portfolio, and a background in vascular surgery and endovascular therapy. Of particular interest are computational modeling of cardiovascular disease and its interaction with the physical properties of human tissue (e.g. surface topography, elasticity, and geometry), MD-PhD training, and availability in 2020. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be board certified or eligible by the American Board of Surgery (or equivalent), and 4) have completed an accredited fellowship or equivalent training in Vascular Surgery.
