Med-Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (20004031)
We seek a qualified, motivated, flexible individual with clinical and/or technical knowledge and organizational skills to serve as a Senior Simulation Specialist for the Peter M. Winter Institute for Simulation, Education, and Research (WISER). This individual will operate, maintain and support the electronic human simulator and peripherals and equipment housed at WISER, and will support the state-of-the-art educational and research missions of WISER, and satellite locations. The Senior Simulation Specialist position will involve occasional travel to support and/or attend various local, regional, national and international conferences and workshops. Travel to various location within the University's Oakland-based campus, and local UPMC facilities to perform simulation activities is required.
A reliable means of transportation is required. The Senior Simulation Specialist position will also be involved in conducting new employee (Simulation Specialist's) orientation and education. Bachelor's degree with emphasis in biomedical technology, computing, or the sciences plus at least 2 years of professional level experience working in an operating room, critical care area, or other healthcare is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Familiarity with operation of personal computers is essential, particularly windows-based environments, electronic mail, and spreadsheets. Familiarity with audio visual equipment is also desirable.
