The School of Health Professions, Physician Assistant Program at SUNY Downstate is seeking a full time Senior Staff Assistant. The successful candidate will: The Physician Assistant Program in the School of Health Related Professions is seeking a Senior Staff Assistant. The successful candidate will be accountable for, but not limited to the following: - Serve as an informational resource for faculty, students, adjuncts and preceptors. - Assist in the establishment, coordination, and promotion of program events including but not limited to workshops, college transfer trips and annual program events. - Prepare documents as necessary utilizing Microsoft Office software. - Maintain files and records, including confidential material, required and generated by the programs in the didactic and clinical phase. - Create and maintain program database and various spreadsheets and other computerized files for the program. - Answer telephone, respond to telephone, in-person an inquires, record message and forward to appropriate staff. - Manage general administrative duties which include office visitors, mail distribution, data entry and exam preparation. - Assist the program with coordinating meetings, preparation of agenda items and minutes. - Maintain strong communication between the Program Director, Faculty, Staff, Students and other members of the campus community. - Provide support to program faculty and staff to facilitate to the performance of their duties as needed. - Assist with the classroom maintenance and coordination of instruction. (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION) QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer competency, including Microsoft Access, Excel and Word. - Excellent organizational skills.
