The Lab for Synthetic Macromolecular Assemblies (PI: George Lu) at the Rice Bioengineering Department has multiple openings for postdoctoral fellows. The lab employs protein engineering, structural biology, biochemistry, and chemical biology methods to develop technologies for ultrasound-based imaging and remote control of cells. Rice Bioengineering is one of the top biomedical engineering departments with its graduate program consistently ranked among the top 10 in the country. The research also takes advantage of our proximity to the country's biggest medical center and opportunities to collaborate with leading scientists in areas such as cancer immunotherapy. The ideal candidate will have one or several of the following expertise: computational protein design, protein biochemistry, structural biology, ultrasound imaging. The candidate should have strong written and oral communication skills, and will also be expected to aid in the supervision of junior lab members and in the preparation of research proposals. The application for postdoctoral fellowships will be encouraged, including both external and internal ones such as Rice University Academy of Fellows.
