The University of Cincinnati Counseling and Psychological Services (UC-CAPS) is looking for qualified individuals to apply for Associate Director – Clinical Services Position and join our energetic, multidisciplinary, culturally informed collaborative team of mental health professionals.

Essential Function: Under general supervision from a designated administrator, manage the day-to-day administration of the Counseling Center whose primary function is Training for the field of professional psychology, providing psychological services to students of the University of Cincinnati, and building a supportive community for the well-being of students.

This position carries key administrative responsibilities for the department and functions as the back-up administrator to the Director. In the role of Associate Director, this administrator creates position descriptions, makes hiring decisions, and prepares/delivers annual performance reviews to assigned CAPS staff.

In collaboration with the Director, this position is fully responsible for the clinical operation of CAPS. The role of Associate Director includes setting and updating clinical policy and procedures, providing guidance to clinicians making clinical judgments. The Associate Director of Clinical Services creates coverage plan for the center and builds the strategy for clinical services and managing assignment of clients, providing clinical supervision to staff members prior to their clinical licensure, regularly produce reports regarding clinical services, and overseeing clinical functions of the reception area. Areas of clinical services managed by this position are Individual & Group Services, Assessment, ARISE, Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) and the Care Management Team (CMT). Additionally, this position provides direct counseling/psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and outreach/prevention services to UC students.

This position works with the Director and Associate Director of Clinical Services and Assistant Director of Training in developing and implementing policy consistent with institutional need and ethical professional practice.

• Responsible for the overall direction of the Counseling Center
• Prepare, submit and administer the departmental annual budget, as well as authorize and approve expenditures, allocation of funds, and hiring process.
• Provide support of the American Psychological Association (APA) Accredited Internship Training Program.
• Providing culturally informed direct clinical services, including case management, and crisis counseling
• Demonstrated commitment, skills and experience in equity and inclusion programming and clinical experience working with traditionally underserved or marginalized populations
• Using best practices and evidence-based research to ensure high quality care for culturally diverse individuals and groups.
• Develop and maintain strong communication with all CAPS Staff to build a community of equity, inclusion and excellence.
• Serving as a resource for equity and inclusion work within UC CAPS and the greater UC community in ongoing outreach efforts
• Provide clinical supervision for graduate trainees.
• Interaction with other University personnel as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) or Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) is required.
• Must be licensed or licensed eligible as a psychologist, social worker, or clinical counselor in the State of Ohio. License must be achieved within 6 months of date of employment.
• Experience must include Five (5) years of clinical experience, with two (2) years in college counseling, with demonstrated two (2) years evidence of increasing supervisory and administrative responsibilities over time.

Additional Qualifications:

• Earned doctorate from an accredited university
• Earned doctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited program, and Completed APA Accredited internship.
• Commitment to Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity within an organization, team, and/or campus environment
• Knowledge of some electronic health record programs
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
