The University of Washington, Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics invites applications for a full time faculty position as an Assistant Professor (WOT), Associate Professor (WOT) or Professor (WOT), with rank commensurate with experience and qualifications on the Clinician-Educator track. This is a 12-month service period. As a Director of the ACGME Fellowship in Child Abuse Pediatrics, the successful applicant will engage in clinical work and post-graduate medical education. Anticipated start date Spring/Summer 2020.
All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. We expect that a clinician-educator will have, or will develop, an area of scholarly activity that complements the clinical work proposed. The position includes protected time for scholarly work.
Protected administrative time will also be provided for fellowship direction. The director is expected to recruit and oversees selection of new fellows, develop and maintain a curriculum of didact and experiential learning that meets ACGME requirements, and provide support and mentorship to fellows as they develop clinically, academically and interpersonally.
The successful candidate will have earned an MD or (foreign equivalent), be board certified in pediatrics, fellowship trained and board-certified or board-eligible in child abuse pediatrics with at least 6 years of experience in the specialty. A track record of relevant academic scholarship and experience teaching or mentoring post-graduate medical trainees are required.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
