The Clinical Trial Data Coordinator works within a multidisciplinary team that supports COVID-19 clinical trials conducted at the Fred Hutch. The position is responsible for collecting and abstracting clinical trial participant data from medical records, research charts, and other source documents ensuring data quality and timeliness. The Data Coordinator will also assist with the build of clinical trial data capture forms and will have the opportunity to support other clinical trial activities as needed. The team supports a large and diverse portfolio of clinical trials and this position will work in close collaboration with faculty, providers and research staff. This position must be able to work independently on multiple research projects, demonstrate attention to detail and strong organizational skills. This position reports directly to the Clinical Trial Operations Director in the Fred Hutch central clinical trials office, Clinical Research Support (CRS).
Work with study team to create protocol specific source documentation, electronic or paper
Review completed source documentation and coordinate with study team to resolve any data discrepancies and ensure resolution and documentation
Record the data obtained from the source into various study-specific data-capture systems (both electronic and paper-based) in a timely manner
Resolve and answer data queries from clinical trial sponsors
Assist with development and management of study-specific data capture forms and databases
Request medical records from outside medical facilities, as appropriate
maintain study records per GCP guidelines
Track and conduct follow-up assessments via telephone as needed per protocol for data collection purposes
Support other clinical trial coordination activities as needed
Research or medical record data abstraction experience
Competency in Microsoft Office software
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to think analytically
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience in REDCap or electronic data capture systems
Clinical research experience
Knowledge of FDA, GCP, and NIH requirements relating to research involving human subjects
