Job Summary: Under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee, The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree.
Additional Department Summary: The postdoctoral scientist will work on the analysis of high-energy neutrino data from the IceCube neutrino observatory, focusing on multimessenger searches of neutrino sources and the characterization of the high-energy astrophysical neutrino flux. The postdoc is expected work in close collaboration with members of the VERITAS/CTA group at UA. The initial position will be for 2 years, but may be extended based on fund availability.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Physics and Astronomy, or a related field. Candidates will need to have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment.

Skills and Knowledge: Experience in the analysis of astrophysical neutrino data, as well as a good general understanding and familiarity with high-energy astrophysical data. Previous experience on the application of machine learning algorithms to physics data will be considered a strong asset.
