Job Summary: Under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee, The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree.
Additional Department Summary: The VERITAS/CTA group at UA is involved in the search for multimessenger sources of neutrinos and gravitational waves with VERITAS, the study of active galactic nuclei, and the development and commissioning of a prototype dual-mirror Schwarzschild-Couder Telescope (pSCT) for CTA.
The successful candidate will participate in the analysis of VERITAS and related multiwavelength observations of multimessenger targets and active galactic nuclei. The candidate will also contribute to the development of control and data acquisition and analysis software for the pSCT and participate in the pSCT commissioning activities at the VERITAS site. The neutrino follow-up studies will be performed in close collaboration with the local IceCube group working on TeV-PeV neutrino source searches.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Physics and Astronomy, or a related field. Candidates will need to have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment.

Skills and Knowledge: Experience in the analysis of high-energy astrophysical data, in particular of gamma-ray observations. Strong software development skills and familiarity with data acquisition systems will be considered important assets.
