General Description of Position:
Part-time faculty members are needed to teach college-level Graphic Design courses at the Alexandria campus. Salary is per credit hour and based on education and experience.
Description of Duties and Tasks:
Teach college-level Graphic Design, Web Design, and/or Multimedia/Animation courses at the Alexandria Campus. Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 10 credit hours during summer session. Teaching load is based upon student enrollment and staffing needs and it's not guaranteed. Instruction may be during the day, evening, or weekend. Adjunct faculty are required to meet assigned classes on meeting dates, submit required grade records and reports, student learning outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications :
Applicants must have an earned Master's degree in Graphic Design or related field from an accredited university or college. Applicants must have earned least 18 graduate credits in graphic design or related field. They must have demonstrated and extensive design experience outside of academia and with a diverse set of graphic design skills. Advanced skills and understanding of the current version of the Adobe Creative Cloud software are needed.
Desired qualifications include having college-level teaching experience and relevant work experience as well as having the ability to use instructional technologies; Daytime, evening, and/or weekend availability. Some experience with online teaching platforms is preferred: Canvas primarily.
