The Lawrence J. Ellison Institute is seeking a talented and passionate Research Lab Technician II to join its team. As part of the Ellison Institute, the Integrative Microscopy Lab is responsible for multi-modal biological imaging with advanced imaging techniques and high-content imaging-based drug screening. The Institute is made up of a diverse group of innovative and talented professionals who work in a fast-paced environment that provides ongoing support to research projects, patient care, lab research and administrative operations.
The Research Lab Technician II is responsible for performing the following job duties:
Culture and maintain cancer patient-derived 3D organoids
Prepare culture plate for imaging experiment
Perform 3D confocal imaging
Analyze and record data and report with presentation
Participate in the lab and general group meeting as well as journal club
Communicate with other groups to discuss results
Preferred Education: B.S./M.S. degree in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry, computer science or other relevant discipline
Preferred Experience: Previous experience in mammalian tissue culture (3D organoids), live cell imaging and 3D image analysis
Preferred Field of Expertise: Computer programing for image analysis
Salary: $20.60 - $24.73
Minimum Education: Associate's degree, Specialized/technical training, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum educationMinimum Experience: 2 yearsMinimum Field of Expertise: Working knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols. Knowledge of computer analysis techniques and ability to provide routine analysis and interpretation of research data.
