Under minimal direction and supervision of the department leader(s) and/or more seasoned specialist, the Clinical Information Systems Specialist II (RN) will be responsible to participates in the planning, design, build, testing, training and implementation of clinical applications by utilizing clinical nursing knowledge and IS knowledge. The Clinical Information Systems Specialist II will also be responsible to work directly with clinical departments to improve clinical practices and standards and optimize workflows and systems, including act as a change agent to develop new processes, enhance existing workflow, and train clinical and medical staff in new functionality or process.
In addition, Clinical Information Systems Specialist II (RN) will be expected to identify needed process changes to ensure compliance with the use of technology to optimize care delivery processes and effectively communicate patient care activities.
Minimum Education:â¢Bachelorâs degreeMinimum Experience/Knowledge:â¢Minimum 6 yearsâ clinical experience as an RN utilizing clinical systemsâ¢Minimum 3 yearsâ of progressively more responsible experience in support/or using the applicable clinical systemsâ¢Strong understanding of clinical workflow processes, resulting in current and future workflow enhancements and performance improvements to support nursing and physician practice.â¢Good organization skills with ability to prioritize multiple activities in a rapidly changing environmentâ¢Strong customer service focusâ¢Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)Required License/Certification:â¢LA City Fire and Safety Certification. If no certification upon hire, must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date.â¢Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
