Position: Instructor/Assistant/Associate/Professor of Education
Salary: $38,000 - $55,000
POSITIONSUMMARY Ohio Christian University seeks an assistant/associate/professor of education with training and/or experience in Middle Childhood Math/Science and an Intervention Specialist. The professor will help to expand the reach of the institution through the cultivation of professional contacts and oversee the curricula in his or her area of expertise.
Maintain a course load as determined by the Provost.
Assist the Dean with program level responsibilities for the faculty member's discipline area.
Curriculum Support Lead faculty for discipline-specific courses *Regular review of curriculum in the area of education. Provide administrative support to faculty *Communicate discipline area changes to faculty
Research & recommend resources
Assist with metacognitive development for applicable courses
Marketing *Assist marketing director with marketing efforts
Faculty Services *Assist Dean with faculty concerns within the applicable discipline area
Student Support *Assist Dean with student complaints and concerns within discipline area
Budgets *Assist Dean with budget development and analysis
Professional Associations and Development *Maintain a relationship with professional organizations in the faculty member's discipline area.
Research and Community Engagement *Undertake research / study in discipline area and/or community engagement on behalf of the University. *Work on assigned University committees
Attend University events as appropriate.
Participate in committees as assigned.
Promote the University at public functions.
Accomplish other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS According to Ohio Christian University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the OCU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Minimum two years of experience teaching in higher education, preferably with some online experience.
Minimum of five years of experience in K-12 education, preferably as an Intervention Specialist
Familiarity with current K-12 practices, pedagogy, and research.
Curriculum development experience at the associate's and/or bachelor's levels
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent team-building and leadership skills.
Capable communicator both in group settings and in individual meetings.
Qualitative research skills.
Normal office work; no heavy lifting is required.
