Responsibilities The Nursing Supervisor provides advanced clinical and administrative supervision 24-hour a day, 7-days a week to the PCS division and to operational areas with nurses outside of PCS. The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for coordinating services for patients, staff, physicians and the general public according to approved hospital and divisional policies, procedures and guidelines and for interacting with other professionals to assure quality care, fiscal responsibility, optimal allocation of resources and accurate timely transmission of information. Assumes responsibility for clinical and administrative functions for Patient Care Services in the absence of the in - house Nursing Administrator. This position acts as the highest-ranking position administrative person on site during the evening, night shifts, weekends and holidays and provides initial response to administrative and clinical issues arising during these hours. Interprets and reports to the Department Head non-compliance with TJC standards and with Federal and State regulations. Assures safe, effective patient care through collaboration with nurses, physicians, and other health care providers. Participates in quality improvement by identifying, directly confronting and documenting issues which affect the quality of nursing care. Participates in assigned Nursing and Hospital Committee meetings.
Minimum of 3 years' of progressive management and leadership experience
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Master's degree required in nursing or other related field.
Possession of valid California RN license.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Relational and Therapeutic Practice
Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice
