This position is in the Department of Ophthalmology Clinical Practice.� The position is located at St. Louis Children's Hospital.� This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Supervises daily activities of clinical offices, support staff, and ancillary services associated with patient care.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises support staff involved in clinical activities in clinical office sites, maintaining adequate workflow, coverage, and schedules.
Resolves personnel problems, conducts meetings pertinent to staffing issues and documents appropriately.
Interviews and hires applicants for positions, supervises training of new employees, conducts job evaluations, job performance counseling, and makes salary recommendations.
Implements and maintains office procedure manuals and current job descriptions of personnel supervised.
Maintains a system of backup transcription services for academic and research needs of the department.
Serves as a liaison between service provider, patient, and clerical and support personnel.
Assists clerical staff as backup during illnesses/vacations.
Ensures patient examination areas are staffed and maintained.
Help foster our service culture of positivity and inclusion by maintaining a positive attitude with co-workers and excellent customer service.
High School diploma or equivalent High School certification, related work experience, preferably in medical insurance setting with supervisory duties.
Ability to recognize, analyzes, and report trends through accounting, organizational, and financial skills with a minimum of five years related experience.
Medicare and managed-care guidelines, and medical terminology required.
Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
Computer knowledge/skills to include word processing (Word), spreadsheet (Excel), Internet, and E-mail.
The hiring range for this position is $43,326 - $54,204 annually.
