Job Summary:The Grant and Contract Specialist Sr. will assist University of Alabama faculty and staff in the review and processing of sponsored project proposals and in the review, revision and development of sponsored project proposed budgets, including ensuring compliance with Federal, State and Local government administrative requirements.
Additional Department Summary: The Senior Specialist will mentor Grant and Contract Specialists and assist with resolution of unique and complex matters that arise. The Senior Specialist must maintain a working knowledge of University policies and procedures, and various federal and state regulations governing sponsored research administration and independently interpret and apply them in a variety of situations.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher and at least three (3) years experience in administration of grants and contracts with a preference for university grant and contract administration. Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher and at least four years of experience in administration of grants and contracts at a university. Ability to interact professionally with all levels of university personnel as well as funding agencies. Participation in external organizations dedicated to development and education for research administrators.
