Ashland University's Dwight Schar College of Nursing and Health Sciences is currently accepting applications for full-time Clinical Assistant Professor, non-tenure track position. The Schar College of Nursing and Health Sciences academic building located in Mansfield, Ohio, has an award winning, state-of-the-art simulation center.
The Clinical Assistant Professor is a member of the faculty and is appointed to standing faculty committees. This position is involved in the development and evaluation of the program and students and is actively involved in leadership, teaching, guidance, and advising of students. Scholarly work and professional service are also essential aspects of a Clinical Assistant Professor's work.
Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports the mission of Ashland University and the Schar College of Nursing and Health Sciences
Supports Ashland University's philosophy of Accent on the Individual.
Contributes to course and curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
Serves on college and university committees as assigned and on a volunteer basis.
Participates in activities that provide professional service to the community and leadership of professional organizations.
Maintains exemplary academic standards and be consistently active in development of teaching methods and evaluation.
Provides guidance, mentoring, and role-modeling for students.
Effectively works with the daily mental and physical stresses of the job which includes, but is not limited to: meeting deadlines, attending meetings, completing compliance requirements, meeting and working with staff, faculty, students, and the public.
Promotes and maintains collaborative relationships between college and clinical agencies.
Develops and maintains a program of research that includes review of texts and articles, implementation of research, writing, editing, and presenting.
Engages in other scholarly activities such as reviewing texts and articles or serving in a consulting capacity based on expertise.
Maintains involvement in professional associations by attending and participating in professional meetings and conferences.
Preparation at the doctoral level required. Specialty certification in Family Nurse Practitioner role preferred.
Completion of an approved registered nursing education program in a jurisdiction as defined in Paragraph (S) of Rule 4723-5-01 of the Ohio Administrative Code.
Current, valid licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio.
Official transcripts verifying academic preparation.
At least three (3) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse.
Two (2) years of educational experience at the level of Instructor and/or three (3) years in a clinical position involving teaching and/or administration.
Demonstrated evidence of teaching and/or clinical excellence, scholarly activity, professional leadership, and community service.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Documented evidence of excellent interpersonal skills at previous position or rank.
Availability to participate in events important to the ongoing success of the University and College.
