The Medical Records Manager is to oversee the daily operations and functions of clinical information support, the release of the information, and scanning tasks in the Health Information Systems/Services Department. This position supervises 17 employees.

The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center. Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

Bachelor’s in medical record administration or related discipline; or completion of a accredited medical record technician program and two years of experience in medical record work; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Health Information Systems/Services was formed with the merging of Medical Records and the Logician Implementation team into one unit under ECU Physicians Administration in February 2001. Our primary objective is the development, maintenance, and continued enhancement of a comprehensive clinical information system for the ECU Physicians Administration.
