The Department of Biostatistics at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) is seeking applications for a Tenure Track faculty position beginning in Spring 2021. The faculty appointment will be in the Department of Biostatistics in UNC's Gillings School of Global Public Health. Applicants are sought at the Assistant Professor level. The focus of the search is on areas of biostatistics related to Bayesian methods for complex innovative trial design, pragmatic trial design, precision medicine, analysis of big data and/or complex data, including but not limited to methods for electronic health record data, data linkage and integration, machine learning, medical imaging, among other areas.
Education and Experience:
Applicants should have broad research and teaching interests, the potential to direct PhD-level research, and the ability to engage in collaborative research with other faculty members at the University. Applicants should have the potential to lead a large trial or cohort study. Applicants will be expected to teach one graduate level course per year. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Bayesian methods for complex trial design, including adaptive design and who have experience in teaching and working in a data coordinating center research environment.
