The Finance and Administration Office is looking for a Budget/Business Analyst. The position monitors, reconciles, analyzes and reports on budget activity for Enrollment Services. The Budget/Business Analyst will work directly with the Senior Business Officer and other members of the Finance team. May be asked to lead other staff in related work duties or projects. The position will focus largely on monthly reconciliation, while providing critical analysis on operational budget and expense for Orientation Programs, Admission Center and the Student Services Contact Center. The Budget/Business Analyst will spend a large percentage of time analyzing costs associated with hotels, hospitality services, audio visual and various university services used for admission recruitment and orientation events.
This role will monitor actual income and expense, while also developing projections in order to authorize or extend financial commitments. Analyzes current performance to plan. Identifies and researches variances and trends and brings to the attention of the supervisor for discussion and resolution. Projects future budget performance based on knowledge of assigned operations.
The selected candidate will be expected to set up and maintain accounts. Reconcile account balances and activity to university financial records and initiate correcting entries. Prepare and submit financial reports as required and review for accuracy prior to distribution. Troubleshoot problems, including research of pertinent facts and interact with appropriate university staff to achieve resolution. Coordinate month-end and year-end financial transfers and closing activity.

Job QualificationsMinimum Education:-Bachelor's Degree-Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience:-1 Year Minimum Field of Expertise:-Business administration, accounting or related degree and budget experience including knowledge of government and fund accounting. Strong computer skills withuse of automated spreadsheets. Preferred Education:-Bachelor's Degree-Finance/Accounting degree Preferred Experience:-2 Years-General ledger reconciliation background-Advanced Excel experience, with demonstrated background establishing pivot tables, array formulas and VLOOKUP functions Preferred Field of Expertise:-Prefer university budget experience and knowledge of university financial systems.
