The Data Manager will be responsible for abstracting and cleaning data, exporting data from electronic medical record (EMR) systems, linking EMR data with data collected in Qualtrics and REDCap, and organizing and coding data for consistency. Will work closely with investigators in the Division of Infectious Diseases to design studies and data collection tools, as well as prepare descriptive analyses, data tables, and other analytics characterizing information from new and ongoing research efforts.
Perform data abstraction, cleaning and QC.
Collect, abstract, clean, code, and analyze data from different health information systems (including NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital electronic health records, and clinical trial and research databases).
Develop systems to improve data quality across all studies.
Maintain confidentiality of study participants and adhere to principles of Human Subjects Protection (HSP) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
Assist with interpretation of data and prepare statistical reports of the data including data tables to support ongoing studies, manuscripts, and grant submissions.
Maintain/design data tracking systems; analyze data trends and outcomes.
Perform additional related duties as needed.
Bachelor's or more advanced degree in statistics, epidemiology, or related field, or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of experience
Experience preparing data tables with ability to manage large datasets
Experience exporting and importing data from health information systems
Working knowledge of R, Qualtrics, SAS, REDCap
Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Basic knowledge of viral infections (specifically HIV and SARS-CoV-2) and clinical research
Proficiency or fluency in Spanish
Successful completion of applicable compliance and system training requirements
