The Visual Neuroscience Lab in the Center for Neural Science at New York University has an immediate opening for a full-time research technician. The technician will work in a team-driven environment and be responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to: maintaining inventories of general stocks and supplies, procurement, protocol compliance, laboratory upkeep and coordinating equipment repair/manufacturing. Experience in CAD/CAM design and fabrication, scientific computing, and web development are valuable but not required. In-term opportunities for promotion will be available to qualified candidates seeking a longer-term position.
Opportunities for significant involvement in ongoing research are available to interested candidates. The Visual Neuroscience Lab uses a variety of approaches to study vision including measurements of behavior, brain structure, and brain function. The lab is composed of undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, and research scientists. This is an ideal position for someone seeking to gain professional experience in a research environment before continuing to graduate studies or the private sector.
Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Physics, Engineering, or another related field. Relevant post-graduate job experience would be helpful but is not required.
