THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN.
JOBSUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Department of Anesthesia Director of Research,this position works closely with Investigators to oversee multiple clinicalstudies for research, productivity, and compliance. Ensures overallproductivity and compliance to protocols of clinical studies assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews ICU admissions, identifies potential research candidates, and discusses the significance of the candidate with Investigator(s) for ongoing studies conducted by investigators.
Recruits and obtains consent from patients/subjects as directed by the investigators.
Researches and registers collected samples with the Department of Pathology or collects biologic samples directly from the patient (urine, blood, stool) or from anesthesia/surgical staff (cerebrospinal fluid, tissue samples).
Administers research-specific exams to subjects as directed by Investigators.
Assists investigators manage medical/undergraduate student researchers with research projects.
Abides all IRB rules and regulations, including acquiring all needed training.
Helps prepare and assist others with IRB applications and submissions.
Maintains accountability for records, new protocols, amendments, IB's and IRB activities; updating Regulatory binder as needed.
Maintains all project notebooks and databases daily.
Tracks and processes Adverse Events (AEs) and Serious Adverse Events (SAE's), per trial assigned.
Assists Investigators with data analysis, including using packaged statistical programs.
Prepares manuscripts with the assistance of Investigators.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
