The department of Laboratory Services seeks a Pathologists Assistant. Responsibilities for this position include serving as a practitioner, educator and a role model for residents, students, and staff members on grossing complex and small specimens, as well as performing frozen sections, specimen photography, and supporting tissue procurement for clinical research. The incumbent will work independently to gross complex surgical specimens, determine the need to consult with a pathologist, make technical grossing decisions, troubleshoot and resolve specimen receiving issues. Will also be expected to be proficient in surgical pathology prosection and may on occasion need to accession specimens or place specimens on tissue processors. New PA program graduates are welcome to apply. The work location will be at Chandler, possible rotation to Good Sam.
Grossing skills, team player, excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, and frozen section experience.

Required License/Registration/Certification :
MS from accredited PA program, PA certification and 2 or more years related experience preferred. Previous paid grossing experience in academic medical center working closely with residents also preferred.
