The Department of Pediatrics at Rhode Island Hospital/Hasbro Children's Hospital, in affiliation with the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, is seeking a mid-career physician to join and direct the Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. The successful candidate must qualify for a full-time medical faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor in the Teaching Scholar Track or Research Scholar Track. Applicants should hold an M.D. degree and have board certification or board eligibility in Allergy and Immunology. Candidates for this position must have a strong background in managing children with all aspects of allergic and immunologic diseases; excellent qualifications in clinical care and teaching; and a commitment to scholarly participation in the research programs of the Hassenfeld Child Health Innovative Institute /Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong public health outlook and an interest in extending patient education and public health initiatives within the community. National reputation and scholarly achievements appropriate for a senior level position will be expected. The successful candidate will assume clinical, academic, and administrative responsibilities, including provision of clinical care and teaching students and residents at Hasbro Children's Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital, and Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island. It is expected that at least 20% of incumbent's time will be protected time devoted to scholarly activities with the potential for additional research time based on funding. Candidates would have the opportunity to collaborate with a successful team of clinical asthma and food allergy researchers. Applicants must possess a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Rhode Island (or must be licensed in another jurisdiction and be eligible for licensure in Rhode Island).
