The Department of Pediatrics, Hasbro Children's Hospital/Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a full time Pediatric Neurologist. The successful candidate must be board certified in neurology, specialize in Pediatric Neurology and have the ability to serve as Director of Pediatric Neurology in the Department of Pediatrics, Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Fellowship training and research experience in Pediatric Neurology is required. She/he must qualify for appointment at the Associate or Professor level at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. The individual selected must also have a record of accomplishment, promise as a teacher and as a clinician while also having a record of accomplishments pertinent to the academic rank of initial appointment. This position is part of the long-term academic plan for the Rhode Island Hospital and Warren Alpert Medical School.
The selected individual will participate in the educational programs in Pediatrics and Neurology for medical students and residents as well as other staff members at Hasbro Children's Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital. In addition, this individual will participate by providing Neurology care to patients of the Hospital. The successful candidate will collaborate with other faculty and the Chairperson of the Department of Pediatrics in educational programs, in scholarly work, and in clinical activities.
The successful applicant will be expected to be a productive scholar and will be provided with opportunities for research.
Must be Board Certified in Neurology.
Experience in Pediatric Neurology is highly desirable.
Must demonstrate excellence as a teacher of Neurology.
Research productivity focus on Pediatric Neurology is preferred.
Must be an accomplished clinician able to serve as a teaching role model for pre-doctoral and post-doctoral medical students, interns and residents. Must show promise of developing an ongoing record of scholarly productivity through research or other means appropriate to the academic rank and to timely academic promotion.
Appointee in academic track will be provided a minimum of 20% protected time to pursue academic and research opportunities.
